Last weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Biomedical Engineering Symposium with my grad student, Paola, and my undergrad student, Ebneaza. Paola invited to give
The symposium was held at the Patrick D Daniel / Enbridge conference room on the 8th floor of D-ICE on campus, and it was packed with around 100 attendees, including 66 undergraduate students, 12 graduate students, and 13 high school students. The organizers had planned the event to give everyone a broad perspective on the field of biomedical engineering, and they had
invited speakers mostly from Department of Mechanical Engineering backgrounds to share their research in Biomedical Engineering.
Our presentation was a little different from the other talks because we talked about drug discovery, personalized medicine, and AI-enabled proton-protein structures. However, the other speakers were equally engaging and interesting. I personally enjoyed the talk of the keynote speakers. It was fascinating to see how different fields can come together to solve medical problems.

After our presentations, we had a chance to chat with some of the undergraduate and high school students who were attending. They were so enthusiastic and curious, and it was really inspiring to see their passion for biomedical engineering. We hope that we were able to empower them and provide some insights that might help shape their future path.
